Lipa,
city, central Philippines, on the island of Luzon, in Batangas
Province, near scenic Lake Taal. It is a trade center adjacent
to the terminus of the railroad from Manila. Rice, sugarcane,
corn, and coconuts are grown in the region, and a cutlery-manufacturing
industry is located in the city.
